This resort has two outstanding eighteen hole courses and an eighteen hole par 3 course. The Gailes Course is a links-style design that features sod-faced bunkers and tall heather rough lining all its fairways. There are two double greens like those at Saint Andrews in Scotland. “Golf Digest” rated this course as the “Best Public Course” in the state for 1996. In the category of “Best in State” it was ranked 4th for 1995-96, and 6th best for 1997-98. In addition, “GOLF Magazine” rated it 42nd among the “100 Greatest Courses in the U.S.” for 1998, and “GOLFWEEK” ranked it 45th in the category of “America’s 100 Best Classical Courses” for 1997. The Resort Course is very beautiful because of all the flowers and trees. A wide variety of wildlife populates this course. There are water hazards coming into play on both regulation courses. In addition, the resort also features the Wee Links Par 3 Course. The Wee Links Course has small greens, except for two that are double-tiered. Deep bunkers hug the greens, and numerous holes are surrounded by tall fescue. A water hazard stretches the length of the back nine and four holes play over it. The scorecard doesn’t show handicaps for individual holes on the Wee Links Par 3 Course. If you are staying at the resort, there is no charge to play this course. Free golf clinics are available for resort guests Monday through Friday.
