This resort, which was named by “GOLF Magazine” to its 1998 list of “Silver Medal Resorts,” has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The Canyon Course is considered the most difficult. The Ridge Course is the next hardest and then the Hill Course. These are typical desert-target courses, featuring many changes in elevation, plus elevated tee boxes and greens. “Golf Digest” rated the Ridge/Canyon course as the 8th “Best Public Course” in the state for 1996, and the 13th “Best in State” course for 1995-96. The resort was also listed among “Silver Medal Resorts” by “GOLF Magazine” in 1996. Only guests of the Westin Hotel and club members can play these courses. The La Paloma Golf Academy is located on premises, for information call (800) 876-3683. The ladies’ tees on each of the combinations are also rated for men.
