12 Bridges Dr Lincoln, CA 95648
916-645-7200
This club held its grand opening on April 1, 1996, when it played host to the Sacramento LPGA Classic. In addition, the club is also hosted the Far and Above Junior Golf Club, plus the Executive Women’s Golf League. The history behind the name Twelve Bridges dates back to the 1800’s when J. Parker Whitney owned the 25,000 acres that the course was eventually built on. In order to visit the home of J. Parker Whitney, a person crossing his property on Eight Mile Drive would have to cross twelve bridges in order to get to his residence. There are still four original bridges intact on the course, plus parts of eight additional bridges. This breathtaking course was built on seventy-six acres of rolling terrain and features over 26,000 live oak trees. Water hazards (lakes and creeks) come into play on six holes, and the elevation changes vary from fifty to seventy feet from peak to valley. “Golf Digest” selected this course 10th in the category of “Best New Upscale Courses” for 1996. The experience of playing this course is second to none, and there are no individual signature holes because this is a “Signature Course.” A full-service practice facility and learning center, offering group and individual lessons, is also available. Caddies are only available on a reservation basis. The 6,127-yard men’s tee also has a ladies’ course rating of 76.2 and a slope of 135.
