Golf Course Description

This club offers three nine hole courses, two which are generally played as an eighteen hole combination, and one (the Centennial Course) which is played separately. Water comes into play on two holes on the courses. Both courses were built on rolling terrain and have wide-open fairways and subtly sloping greens. The Centennial Course’s fairways are narrow, and water hazards don’t come into play. This club was first founded in 1890 and has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition “GOLF Magazine” recognized it in their 1995 list of “The First 100 Clubs in America.” “Golf Digest” rated the Spring/Mill Course as the 6th “Best in State” course for 1995-96, and 14th best for 1997-98. “GOLFWEEK” listed the course 68th among “America’s 100 Best Classical Courses” for 1998 and 1999. This private club hosted the 1939 U.S. Open. Due to the private nature of this club green fees and cart fees are not available.
