This club has two regulation eighteen hole courses that were built on beautiful rolling terrain. The Blue Course, located next to the ocean, is spectacular for its views of Martha’s Vineyard. The course features a seaside links-style design with a front nine that overlooks the Nantucket Sound. The back nine has tree-lined fairways, and the greens are undulating and elevated. This course was ranked by “Golf Digest” as the 5th “Best Public Course” in the state for 1996, and 7th best in 1997-98. In addition, “GOLF Magazine” rated this course as the 83rd best under the 1998 category of the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S.” This course was redesigned by Rees Jones in 1987 and is probably the more difficult of the two. The club hosted the 1985 Women’s NCAA Championship. The Green Course is tightly tree lined and features elevated greens. The whole course is surrounded by pine and oak trees. Water hazards only come into play on the Blue Course. The course is only open to the public during the off season which runs from September through May. Tee times can be reserved twenty-four hours in advance, and the club professional advises that you should call the pro shop for further details because the green fees vary throughout the year.
