This regulation course features a blend of the Michigan Forest and Scottish-links designs. The course is very scenic because of all its pine trees and several elevation changes. The rolling fairways vary in design between the traditional narrow and tree lined, to the wide Scottish links-style. The greens are large, fast, and undulating. In addition, water hazards (streams, lakes, and wetlands) come into play on at least half the holes. The signature hole is #6, a 625-yard, par 5, featuring a double-dogleg fairway that works from left to right, then right to left, and a double-tiered green. A new clubhouse, featuring a full bar and casual dining, opened in 1997.
