This facility is located on an island of the St Lawrence River and offers two eighteen hole courses, the Thousand Island Course and the Lake Course. The Thousand Island Course is a links-style course that was built on rolling hills. Hole #11, a 330-yard, par 4, features an elevated tee box, which overlooks the inland waterway to Canada. Water hazards, which include a number of ponds as well as part of the St. Lawrence River, come into play on at least eight holes. The Lake Course, which opened in 1999, is a fairly short, but very challenging design. There are sixteen ponds that come into play on sixteen holes. The greens are tea cup-shaped and fast, while the fairways are cut tight and generally tree lined. The signature hole is #4, a 145-yard, par 3, featuring an elevated tee box that requires the tee shot to be hit off of a cliff and over a road that leads into a housing development. The Philrittson Golf School North opened in the spring of 1999.
