This course has the traditional feel of a Carolina design, as it is cut through a pine forest and wetlands. The greens are well protected by an assortment of sand bunkers and water hazards. The surface of the greens are not severely undulating, however, approach shots must come in high due to the fast putting surface. The fairways are generous, more so on the front nine. Mounds, hills and moderately heavy rough line the fairways. This course hosted a PGA Tour qualifying tournament in 1998/99. The signature hole is #18, a 592-yard, par 5, which features a severe dogleg left fairway. A lengthy tee shot is necessary to clear the dogleg and bunkers. Water comes into play on the second shot, but big hitters should be able to clear it. The green is severely sloped from front to back. Approach shots needs to come in high. Depending on the wind, this hole can play a great deal longer.
