This club has two outstanding eighteen hole courses. These long courses are difficult and will test your golfing abilities. “Golf Digest” rated the Highlands Course as the 6th “Best in State” course for 1995-96, and the 11th best for 1997-98. Both the Highlands and Riverside courses have been the sites of past U.S. Opens. The Riverside Course is a little more wide open than the Highlands Course. The LPGA U.S. Open has also been held at this facility. The Chattahoochee River comes into play on five holes; and ponds come into play on three other holes. All the holes have tree-lined fairways. The course has seven dogleg fairways and numerous sand bunkers, so shot accuracy is a premium. The Highlands Course has been redesigned several times since Joe Finger added nine new holes in 1971, the latest changes were done by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay in 1989. This club will host the 2001 PGA Championship.
