This course, which is part of Colgate University, has fairways that are fairly open and easy to walk. Water hazards (some ditches, four ponds, and a creek) come into play on twelve holes. The original plans for the course were drawn up by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in the 1930’s, set aside by the University, and then implemented in 1957 when the front nine was first opened. The back nine was designed after Jones’ earlier plans and was opened in 1968. “Golf Digest” rated this course as the 7th “Best Public Course” in the state for 1996.
