This club has two eighteen hole courses, The Mountains and The Canyons. Holes #11 through #17 on The Mountain Course climb through mountains, requiring shots over extensive barranca to specific landing areas with very little opportunity to recover if you make an errant shot. The front nine is more traditional, with wider fairways and water coming into play on a few holes. All the greens are multi-tiered, and water hazards come into play on seven holes altogether. The signature hole is #15, a 505-yard, par 5, featuring an elevation drop of 175 feet from tee to green. “Golf Digest” rated this as the 28th “Best in State” course in 1995. The course is closed on Monday and Tuesday from June through September. The Canyons Course opened in the fall of 1998 and measures 7,053 yards of rock-studded canyons, copper foothills, wandering streams and breathtaking waterfalls. There is a plethora of elevation changes, and breathtaking views from every hole on this course. The front nine offers unrivaled views of the valley floor and surrounding foothills. Fairways are expansive on the front nine. The second half of the course is located in the upper elevations, with many holes set against a natural desert wash setting. The 6,244-yard men’s tee on The Canyons Course also has a ladies’ course rating of 76.3 and a slope of 134.
