Golf Course Description

This facility offers two regulation eighteen hole courses. The Ocean South Course features three holes designed on cliffs overlooking the ocean. Even though the South Course may be the easier of the two, it still offers substantial shotmaking challenges, as it traverses several canyons. “GOLF Magazine” selected the North Course 50th in the 1998 category of “Top 100 Courses You Can Play.” The Ocean North Course is highlighted by hole #17, a 543-yard, par 5, which is bordered by water on one side of the fairway and a canyon on the other. Locals appropriately nicknamed this hole “Gut Check” (each of the holes are named, like #10, “Rip It”). “Golf Digest” rated it as the 14th “Best in State” course for 1995-96, and the 20th best for 1997-98. They also rated it 51st in the category of the “Top 75 Upscale Courses” for 1996. In addition, “GOLF Magazine” selected it 40th among the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S.” for 1996, and “GOLFWEEK” awarded it 72nd out of “America’s 100 Best Modern Courses” for 1997. The North Course, like the South Course, has a view of the ocean from nearly every hole. This course, designed after the Scottish links-style, utilizes the natural landscaping of the terrain. The North and South courses provide five sets of tees, so every skill level will enjoy playing here. “GOLF Magazine” selected the North Course 46th in the 1998 category of “Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S.” This facility offers golf educational programs developed by PGA professionals.
