This flat, tree-lined course is loaded with magnificent scenery. Water hazards come into play once every three holes, and there are sand bunkers spread throughout the entire course. For many years this men-only club was home to the PGA Tour’s Western Open. “Golf Digest” rated this 49th out of “America’s 100 Greatest Courses” for 1995-96, and 58th best for 1997-98. The magazine also rated it as the 3rd “Best in State” course for 1995-96, and 4th best for 1997-98. In addition, “GOLF Magazine” ranked it 64th in the category of the “Top 100 Courses in the U.S.” for 1995, 84th in 1997 and 94th in 1999. “GOLFWEEK” awarded it 63rd among “America’s 100 Best Modern Courses” for 1997, 89th for 1998 and 79th for 1999. Dick Nugent has done redesigns on the course. Members are allowed to walk the course, however their guests may not.
