This course lies in a historical area full of American gold-rush history. The course lays in transition zone at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and above the normal fog line, thus allowing excellent weather and playing conditions year round. The Crystal Mountain Range also makes this a very scenic course because it is lined with numerous dogwood and pine trees. Accuracy is very important on this course, for the elevation between the tees and greens vary greatly with every hole. Several water hazards, bunkers and dogleg fairways will also add to the difficulty. The 5,569-yard men’s tee also has a ladies’ course rating of 70.4 and slope of 122.
