7 Trent Jones Ln Hilton Head Island, SC 29928
843-785-1138
This resort, which was named to “GOLF Magazine’s” 1996 list of “Silver Medal Resorts,” features three unique eighteen hole courses. The Arthur Hills Course, the most challenging of the three, has fairways that are shaped according to the natural contours of the terrain. This course was refurbished in 1995 during which all eighteen greens were rebuilt. Water hazards come into play on many holes, and the medium-sized greens are somewhat undulating. The signature hole is #17, a 380-yard, par 4, requiring an accurate tee shot that will carry the canyon-like lagoon guarding the left side of the fairway from off the tee, then avoiding on the approach shot as it carves its way back through the fairway. The George Fazio Course was also built on the natural terrain, but it was designed like the more traditional courses. The small greens are severely undulating, and the fairways are tree lined. This course requires several shots over lagoons in order to reach some of the greens. The Robert Trent Jones Course is a links-style design that plays out towards the ocean. Some of the large greens are undulating, and the fairways are well manicured. The terrain is flat, and some holes play alongside lagoons.
