This facility has two excellent eighteen hole courses. The Dunes Course was cut out of the natural dunes. The front nine is so narrow that it’s tough to hit a driver unless you have a very straight shot. The back nine is open and designed to play similar to Turnberry in Scotland. The fairways, tees, and greens are either elevated or hilly. Water hazards (six ponds) come into play on four holes. The 5,544-yard men’s tee also has a ladies’ course rating of 71.5 and slope 115. The Lakes Course is a shotmaker’s layout. You’ll probably only need your driver three times while playing this course. The Lakes Course got its name from the fact that water comes into play on twelve of the eighteen holes. The signature hole on the Lakes Course is #14, a 401-yard, par 4, requiring a driver off the tee and then an approach shot to an island green surrounded by sand bunkers. The 5,423-yard men’s also has a ladies’ course rating of 71.0 and slope of 120. You may only walk these courses before 8:30 AM or after 2 PM.
