This course was built on a marsh. The design features small greens and narrow fairways. This club was originally founded in 1895 and has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. “GOLF Magazine” also placed it on its 1995 list of the “First 100 Clubs in America.” William F. Mitchell redesigned the original nine holes in 1951, then Geoffrey Cornish and William G. Robinson designed the back nine, which opened in 1969.
