This course features beautiful scenery and is a good test of golf. Many fairways are dogleg configurations, and all are defined by a light cut of rough. The well-manicured greens vary from small to medium in size. The most difficult hole is #5, a 463-yard, par 4, requiring a straightaway uphill tee shot that must avoid the out-of-bounds stakes on the right and the trees on the left, then an extremely long approach shot to an elevated green. Even though there are no water hazards on the course, solid course management is necessary for any chance at scoring a low round. John Steidel redesigned one hole in 1981. There is no nine-hole rate on weekends. The ladies’ par is actually 74. Soft spikes are strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
