This course, built in a forest preserve, is one of twelve Audubon Society “Signature Courses” in the United States. The fairways are generously-sized, which is good, since they transition suddenly to very thick native area. Large, undulated fairways afford a wide variety of challenging pin placements. Hole #16, a 578-yard, par 5, features a double fairway bordered by water on the right, and bunkers on the left. The well-protected green is tucked back right, demanding an accurate approach. Carts are mandatory Friday through Sunday. The 5,905-yard men’s tee also has a ladies’ course rating of 74.2 and slope of 133.
